Kendrick Lamar celebrated the No. 1 debut of his album To Pimp a Butterfly by shutting down the streets of L.A. for a mobile concert. The Compton rapper, in partnership with Reebok’s #GetPumped initiative, rode through his hometown on Tuesday night while performing on top of a moving sixteen-wheeler flatbed truck.

Just an hour before, he told his L.A. fans to meet him at two locations at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Dressed in a gray sweatsuit, Kendrick made his way down Sunset Blvd., ending at the Reebok Lounge on Melrose Ave.

“Reebok and I have a shared goal to inspire, so helping people to get pumped though music and fitness was perfect—performing in such a unique way, creating a real experience and encouraging people through a run in my hometown of L.A.,” said Kendrick in a statement. “Partnering with Reebok, we always want to do something different and that will get people moving and this is an example of us coming together to create something special.”

Fans mobbed the streets and ran alongside the truck as he and his band performed hits including “Money Trees,” “m.A.A.d city,” “Backseat Freestyle,” and “Fuckin’ Problems,” plus a cover of Tupac’s “Hail Mary.” After prompting from his diehards, he also performed “Alright” off TPAB for the first time.
